V8 Shorthorns is owned by Jim and Luann Williams, Brandon and Rachel Cutrer, and Luke and Catherine Neumayr. Though ranching has been in our family for over 100 years, we began breeding Shorthorns in 1986, and have loved every minute of it. Our ranch is located 1 hour south of Houston, along the Texas gulf coast. Our herd consists of 80 breeding females and bulls and is one of the southern-most Shorthorn herds in the United States.

Our family has worked on the V8 Ranch for our entire lives, which is internationally known for Brahman cattle. When Rachel and Catherine began showing in junior shows, we wanted to get involved in another breed that would give our family a way to build a program from the ground up, working together, and enjoying the time spent with the cattle. We chose Shorthorns over other breeds because of their gentle dispositions, unique showring style, and maternal and carcass strengths.

Over the past 20 years, we have established a nationally recognized herd and become active members of the American Shorthorn Association. We focus on high profile genetics, proven cow families, and the best sires in the breed to raise cattle that achieve the goals our customers set.
